"It Takes A Globe" to Save a Planet!

A more significant existential threat to our planet is climate change.  You can't have 8 billion people on a planet and not expect to have problems.  For as long as humans have inhabited the Earth, we have been exploiting and polluting its resources.  As large as the Earth is, it's easy to think there's enough for everyone, but that's no longer the case.

The Global Community

Like it or not, we humans are all neighbors.  We live on an island in a vast universe; it's not like we can pack up and leave for another planet.  We are part of the same global community.  Because of technology, travel, communications, and the internet, the world has gotten smaller.  We couldn't live in isolation if we wanted to.

The Atmosphere

Due to fossil fuels and other pollutants, the Earth's atmosphere has become a greenhouse that has caused the planet to warm.  This warming has bought us fires, floods, severe storms, and drought.  More devastating is the melting of the polar ice caps and the subsequent rise in sea levels.  Nearly 50% of the world's population lives in coastal areas.  As the sea levels rise, half the population of the world will be impacted.  Do you care to think about the costs and chaos that will entail?

The Global Crisis

This is a global crisis that's going to need a global solution.  It will not matter if a dozen countries change their behavior to mitigate climate change.  We are all on the same island, and we will all drown together.

Save the Planet

So what do we do?  If you're reading this, then you're part of the solution. It will take every one of us to want to save our planet.  We need to do it to save humanity.  If you don't want to do it for humanity, then be selfish and do it for yourself and your family.  There has to be a grassroots effort from the bottom up.  We need to support and elect leaders to address the issues and find creative ways to reverse the current threats and save ourselves from extinction.

Think Globally, Act Locally

It's up to us; to think globally and act locally.  Be informed and get academic support from elected officials and companies committed to change.  Pick up a T-Shirt and show the world you're passionate about saving the Earth.  Remember, neighbor, "It Takes A Globe" to save a planet!
